Mr. Marc Mullen, the Executive Director for the California Culinary Academy Educational Foundation (CCAEF) and the CCAEF Board are pleased to announce today the Eleventh Annual Gala Dinner and Auction to be held on November, 4, 2006, at the California Culinary Academy campus, in San Francisco. All proceeds from the event will benefit 2006-2007 scholarships.

The Gala Dinner is an annual fund raising event, subsiding young aspiring culinary students. The event encompasses a silent and a live auction in addition to a multi course meal paired by a fine variety of select wines. Honored guests this year include the internationally renowned Chef Martin Yan to present the Chef Star Award and Danielle Carlisle, who will be honored for her achievements in the culinary industry.

“Our goal is to help financially challenged students, whom otherwise might not continue their training,” states Mr. Mullen while explaining that the culinary industry is the largest private sector employer in the US and that for each dollar spent results in a dollar and a half for other related industries. “Once you take a close look at the culinary industry, you realize how crucial it is, how essential these scholarships are and how it affects our economy and employment rate,” adds Mr. Mullen.

Seats cost $150 in advance, $200 at the door. Table sponsorships begin at $2,500. For further information, please contact the CCAEF at (415) 354-9163.
