Computer Donation and Recycling Program Expands with the Addition of Office Depot Locatons in Vancouver and 10 New Drop Off Locations in Calgary and Edmonton

It is now even more convenient to drop off your old computers, laptops, monitors and printers for donation and recycling. Computer retailes in Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton, and in Vancouver, British Columbia are teaming up with ERA to collect working computers for many charities and non profit agencies.

(PRWEB) October 5, 2006 -- The Electronic Recycling Association collects old computers, laptops, monitors, printers and other electronics in Calgary, Edmonton, Alberta, Vancouver and British Columbia, and accross Canada.

Thanks to help from local retailers such as Office Depot, Zellers (HBC), WestWorld Computers, Laptop Depot, Computer Trends (Calgary/Edmonton) any many others availble at http://www.era.ca (under depot location)

ERA then refurbishes these computers for use at many charitable and non profit organizations.

In 2006 ERA has helped many charities setup libraries, various elderly centers setup community computer rooms, daycare homes setup computer playgrounds, and many other agencies have received free refurbished computers to use with their causes.

ERA is committed to providing up to 100,000 refurbished computers to communities in Alberta, British Columbia, and accross Canada over the next year.

ERA is facing stiff competition from local governments and large manufactures who are teaming up to prevent usable computers and electronics from being reused and donated. These profit motivated companies are using government regulations to collect old computers, and have them melted.

As a non profit organization ERA stands for reuse, and ethical recycling of old computers and electronics. Canadian companies and residents are regularly upgrading their old computers, as Canada has a high standard to maintain.

Unfortunately many people in Canada and accross the world can not afford the computers other people are disposing of.

ERA is working to ensure that everyone in Canada has a chance to own a computer, or at least access a computer at their local library, elderly home, daycare home, or community organization.

If your company wishes to donate your old computers or if you have an old computer at home, please contact the ERA and help. Your old computer can go a long way in helping somebody.
