PTG Studios is pleased to announce the selection of Kimpton Hotels for its innovative, educational television series Great Taste. This company will be featured in a segment on “Unique Vacations” in the Models of Excellence Series that is currently airing nationwide on cable networks and the Style Network.

Kimpton is a San Francisco-based company known for its collection of stylish independent lifestyle (boutique) hotels that are coupled with fine chef-driven restaurants. Founded in 1981, the company currently operates 39 hotels and restaurants across the United States and Canada. Kimpton's combination of unique design, outstanding service and an adjacent destination restaurant has proven a great success. Over the past couple of years, the company opened the Onyx Hotel in Boston, and 70 park avenue hotel in New York City and Hotel Solamar in downtown San Diego. Kimpton will re-launch the Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove, FL, this year and is also expanding to South Beach, FL, and additional projects are also underway in Chicago and the Washington, D.C., area. Other hotel locations include California (San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley), Colorado (Aspen, Denver), Salt Lake City, UT, British Columbia (Whistler, Vancouver), Portland, OR, and Seattle, WA.

Kimpton develops, owns and manages more boutique hotels than any other company in the U.S. Emphasizing its five signature elements: care, comfort, style, flavor and fun, Kimpton focuses on making the guest feel at home through its informal elegance and outstanding hospitality. Even pets are welcome at most of their properties.

Besides the cozy fireplace and plush seating area in every lobby, Kimptons boast a collection of truly distinctive hotels and restaurants, each with individual personalities and unique design. Each hotel tells a story -- ranging from tranquility and sensuality to fun and whimsical, featuring unique designs to set the mood. With comfort as its number one priority, Kimpton hotels offer packages, programs and services that create a matchless experience.

At one of the seven Hotel Monacos, guests craving quiet companionship can request a goldfish for their room, while those in need of unwinding can take advantage of the “Om away from Home” complimentary in-room yoga program -- that will also include in-room pilates, meditation programs and in-room spa services. Kimpton also offers unique amenities such as special tall rooms, which are customized for taller guests, including higher ceilings and doorframes, longer beds and even a directory of shops and stores catering to taller individuals. In addition, Kimpton offers one-of-a-kind specialty suites with themes based on John Lennon or Lion King, that appeal to the more playful, dramatic and whimsical guests.

In addition to superb hotel accommodations, Kimpton specializes in exceptional food and wine, creating a four-star dining experience. The award-winning restaurants, usually in or adjacent to the hotel, offer everything from sidewalk cafe to hip lounge to an elegant French restaurant. Much like the hotels, each restaurant features a specific themed cuisine, whether it is Northern Italian, or Asian-inspired, and focuses on warm service, distinctive décor and delicious flavors that are praised by locals and visitors alike. The dining experience is topped off by the La Tour Vineyard wines that are created by Kimpton’s chairman and CEO, Tom La Tour. For more information, see http://www.kimptonhotels.com.
