More Military Families Call for Donald Rumsfeld's Resignation

Humor gets outfitted for a kamikaze combat mission with the release of “The Rumsfeld Diaries Political Action Pak.” Its goal? Give Americans the information and tools they need in as entertaining a way as possible so the tides of public opinion make their final shift, and U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gets his “Political Liability” walking papers once and for all.

Gilford, NH (PRWEB) October 11, 2006 -- Six families with the Alaskan Chapter of Military Families Speak Out (MFSO) added their voices to the escalating call for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's resignation.

According to the six, Rumsfeld commended the work done by Alaska's 172nd Stryker Brigade and stated that their arrival in Baghdad had contributed to a 40% to 50% decrease of civilian deaths there. However, according to a Washington Post report (Body Count in Baghdad Nearly Triples, 9/8/06), deaths by car bomb and mortar weren't included in Rumsfeld's totals, in order to make the situation look better than it was.

The six families wrote to Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski that Rumsfeld "was not truthful to we family members when he came to discuss the hardship and pain we face as our loved ones endure the prolonged daily task of facing a dangerous enemy. By misleading us with such conveniently fabricated statistical evidence, he dishonored each of us and thus dishonored the soldiers in the field."

In demanding that Murkowski call for Rumsfeld's resignation, they've joined the growing grass roots effort to see Rumsfeld held accountable for his actions in office. Another grass roots activist applauded the efforts of these military family members.

"These Alaskans are brave and wonderful people," said Allen Voivod, the co-creator of The Rumsfeld Diaries Political Action Pak. "Let's honor out troops and their families by getting a Defense Secretary who can finish the job right and bring our troops home sooner, rather than never."

About The Rumsfeld Diaries Political Action Pak
The Rumsfeld Diaries Political Action Pak takes aim at Donald Rumsfeld on all fronts - satire (by mocking US-Iraqi relations and Rumsfeld's two decades of deep involvement in them), politics (by demanding Rumsfeld's resignation), and activism (by providing easy-to-use tools and resource guides for grass-roots action, and financial support for Amnesty International USA and Human Rights First).
