What Do You Do With the Bird That Falls Out of The Nest—Or the Bobcat Kitten?

Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation director Lynn Cuny appears on Internet Radio's Full Power Living, hosted by Ilene Dillon, to discuss human-animal relationships, the need for, and importance of, nature in our lives, and her work rescuing/rehabilitating domesticated and wild animals at her central Texas preserve, on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 9 a.m. PT.over World Talk Radio.

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) October 9, 2006 -- We all have our “injured animal” story from childhood. A baby bird falls out of its nest; a stray kitten finds our doorstep; or we find a lost dog running on the road.

What to do with it? Lynn Cuny, guest on Internet Radio’s “Full Power Living” (October 12, 2006, 9 a.m. PT, worldtalkradio dot com), secured 187 acres in the hills of central Texas and called in 8000 members to help save and rehabilitate such animals! She discusses her very successful efforts to help humans and nature maintain sustainable relations, as she tells us of the monkeys, birds, domesticated dogs and cats and wild cats that are brought to Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation 24/7, 365 days a year.

Don’t call an animal “it” around Lynn Cuny! Even as a child in San Antonio in the early 1950's, Ms. Cuny recognized that she had an unusual affinity for nature and animals, along with a particular concern for the suffering that often resulted from their encounters with humans. In 1977, she began rescuing urban wildlife — animals who had fallen from trees as nestlings, been hit by cars, trapped in attics, or orphaned when their parents were killed. Lynn then founded Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR) in her home. In 2004 she finally realized her dream of having a place for displaced, injured or abandoned animals—wild and domesticated—to roam in their own 187 acres of rolling hills. Lynn is the recipient of several awards, including the Today's Woman Award from the San Antonio Light, the Headliners Award from the Association of Women in Communication, and the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award from the San Antonio Express-News.

Ms. Cuny is the author of Through Animal's Eyes; True Stories from a Wildlife Sanctuary, published by the University of North Texas Press in 1999.

Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation (WRR) is gaining international recognition. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR) rescues over 7,000 native birds, mammals, and reptiles each year, including Opossums, Racoons, several skunk and squirrel species, over 100 species of birds, Bobcats, and Coyotes, to name a few. The animals that come to WRR for help are orphaned, injured, and displaced members of the native wildlife population.

Lynn was recently host to Animal Planet photographers at WRR. She’ll be describing her extensive operation, as well as speaking to the emotional lives of her wild and domesticated temporary guests, with program host Ilene Dillon, M.S.W.

Full Power Living, created and hosted by Ilene Dillon, M.S.W., is dedicated to “awakening the world to the power and importance of human emotions.” During October, 2006, Dillon’s focus is on animal-human interaction, as she hosts Lynn Cuny, Jan Rasmusen and Chiclet T. Dog (Scared Poopless: The Straight Scoop on Dog Care), and Hardy Jones, internationally renowned filmographer known as “The Dolphin Defender,” whose work has brought significant change to our worldwide fishing industry.

Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation crusader Lynn Cuny appears live on Full Power Living, Thursday, October 12, 2006 (9 a.m. PT). Tune in over the Internet at World Talk Radio dot com. Call in toll-free to talk with Lynn Cuny at 866-613-1612.
