But the fun isn’t restricted to only the special needs kids & their families, whom the MLL and their Challenger Division supports. Although various fundraising events are held throughout the year as a way to raise money for local children to enjoy the game of baseball, the Challenger Division relies upon the support of the community. With no state or county support, the task of funding their yearly Tournament Weekend in Virginia Beach is being made a little easier by incoming donations from bingo events, registration fees, and local businesses, including Flower Peddler.

“My son has played with the Challenger’s Division for two seasons”, Michele continues. “Seeing the enthusiasm and excitement he and the other children have for the game of baseball in a setting where they can forget about their disabilities is priceless.”
