A-List Models Produces 'Second Annual Houston Fashion Weekend' Benefiting United Way

The United Way Houston will benefit from "Houston Fashion Weekend" presented by A-List Models and High Society Entertainment. This second annual extravaganza will have festivities that take place on Friday, November 3, 2006 and Saturday, November 4, 2006.

A-List Models and High Society Entertainment proudly present the Second Annual Houston Fashion Weekend, November 3-4, 2006. The fall theme will culminate New York fashions, European male tailoring, couture femininity, comfortable sportswear, and exquisite bridal wear.

Friday’s main event will mesmerize the mind and dominate the high-fashion runway this fall while making charitable contributions to the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. The United Way is the best way to make the biggest difference in our community by helping children, families, seniors and those rebuilding their lives. Male Pop/R&B star from Houston, Bobby Solomon Smith will grace the stage with his smooth vocal sounds. Smith has been featured on VH1 with Destiny’s Child, and is on tour with Jeff Timmons from 98 degrees. His latest single “More than That” featuring MTV rap star Paul Wall, will be on the NELLY movie soundtrack “SWAP MEET” with R&B sensation MYA. http://www.bobbysolomonsmith.com

The fashion extravaganza will begin promptly at 9:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Downtown Allen Center, conveniently located at 400 Dallas Street, on Friday, November 3, 2006 with an after-party immediately following.

The following designers will be showcased:

  •      Dahveese, designed by Darnell Davis and Belinda Harris, New Yorkers whose Spring 2007 collection is bursting with colors of promiscuous reds, flirty bust lines, and flattering designs for their trendsetting label. Chic, fun, free, and fabulous! Davis has launched his fall collection in London, and has had the privilege of designing for the likes of: Paris Hilton, Raz B (formerly of the R&B sensation B2K), Women’s Wear Daily, Rotana Magazine, Fashion to Fashion Magazine, and having his designs worn by Anne Craig of Fox 5 New York.
  •      Di Theo Fashion, designed by “Theodore” a current Houstonian, who hails from the West African nation of Cameroon.His European tailored collection is for this season’s “GQ” man. A designer and master tailor, he’s had private showings of his European styled garments in Italy, Spain, France, and New York.
  •      La Moda Fashions, a Houston based boutique under the direction of Ms. Omega Alazar. Omega has the latest and greatest designer jeans, accessories, and the ultimate form-fitted couture fashions that accentuate the silhouette of a women’s body with intricate patterns, subtle colors, and classic styles.
  •      Misora, a Houston based bridal company will carry its own exclusive line, Misora Bridal. Misora Bridal has lots of clean lines and no frills. The Misora Bridal line is for the very chic and sensible bride.    

The weekend’s event lineup is as follows:

  •      “Main Event” Fashion Extravaganza and Afterparty - Friday, November 3, 2006 9:00 p.m.- 2:00 a.m. at the Doubletree Downtown Allen Center at 400 Dallas Street.

Pre-sale tickets are $20 general admission and $35 for VIP seating; $25 general admission and $40 VIP at the door

  •     “Designer Meet and Greet Trunk Show” – The style weekend is concluded on Saturday, November 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the Bering and James Art Gallery, 805 Rhode Place #500. Admission is $10.
