Covalys Biosciences AG (http://www.covalys.com) today announced that SNAP-tag and ACP-tag products will be available for sale directly from Covalys in North America and Europe (excluding Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic).

“SNAP-tag and ACP-tag have undergone extensive development and have established themselves as a great way to label and immobilize proteins for drug development and life science research,” said Andreas Brecht, Chief Executive Officer. “Market awareness of our products has increased significantly over the last eighteen months leading to adoption of the technology. Now is the time to increase our interactions with customers by supplying directly. In synergy with our local distributors we will further improve the level of support and accessibility.”

About Covalys Biosciences AG: Covalys provides products that help researchers in academic institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies to improve the efficiency of research into proteins and their function. Its SNAP-tag technology is the first commercially available protein tag which covalently links itself to any chemical probe provided as a substrate. ACP-tag allows site-specific labeling of proteins on cell surfaces. Covalys’ technologies are exclusively licensed from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). Founded in June 2002, Covalys has headquarters in Witterswil, Switzerland. For more information, visit Covalys’ website: http://www.covalys.com
