Swisslog, a leading provider of automated material transport systems for hospitals, offers a wide range of cart designs for use with its TransCar Automated Guided Vehicle System (AGV).
The TransCar AGV system is designed specifically to meet the needs of the hospital environment. Vehicles serve multiple departments throughout the hospital for distribution of bulk food, central/sterile supplies, soiled dishes, clean and soiled linens, trash and regulated medical waste.
As part of the system, Swisslog supplies payload specific carts to meet the unique needs for each department. Carts can be fitted with RFID tags to automatically identify the cart type, input default destinations, and track the activity and timing of individual carts.
Swisslog offers a variety of food carts for hot and chilled applications, stainless steel case carts and sterile carts for supplies, fiberglass and bin-forming carts for trash and supplies, and general purpose flatbed carts. A hospital’s existing carts can be re-used for automatic interface with the AGV system.
Swisslog’s AGV system can be fully integrated with tow-through cart washers/dryers and options are available for automatically dumping of trash and/or soiled linen carts with automatic dumpers as well.
Swisslog has released a brochure that fully describes the bulk material cart options available with its AGV system. Contact Swisslog Customer Support at 800-396-9666 for a copy.
