Nursery rhyme characters can rock, roll and rap? It's true and Crib Rock Couture makes the concert tees to prove it. Children's clothing line Crib Rock Couture frees classic nursery rhyme characters from the bookshelf and lets the legends run wild through your child's closet. Crib Rock's Baa Baa Black Sheep tee pays homage to ACDC's "Back in Black;" The Queen of Hearts tee reminds you not to "Phunk with her tarts;" and a trio of visually-challenged mice hit the road on the "Carving Knife Tour!"
The mixture of these beloved children's rhymes mashed up DJ style with today's music and pop culture lingo has been an instant hit with children of all ages. The fresh twist on old rhymes gives the mock rock tees an immediate cool quotient, causing even seasoned children's fashion expert Michelle Kouzmine to declare that "Crib Rock Couture has become the hot new label in funky, stylish mini-fashion."
And with only 75 shopping days left until Christmas, http://www.CribRockCouture.com has released its highly anticipated, luxe children's thermal tees. The long sleeve Supima cotton thermals feature Crib Rock's signature nursery rhyme characters in black and white, with silver and gold foil embellishments on brightly colored tees. Especially for the season CRC has created tee colors Red Corvette, White Diamonds and Black Coal, which makes this the rare occasion when receiving a little "coal" in your stocking is actually a very good thing.
"Crib Rock's children's thermal tee has been so well-received in part because we've utilized a buttery soft Supima cotton fabric usually reserved for upscale adult casual wear," says CRC's Customer Relations Executive Susan St. Jean. "Our customers are very selective about their children's wardrobes and they've come to expect not only the fun rhyme characters with ironic pop culture references, but also a superior quality garment." The response to this garment was so overwhelming at the recent ABC Kids EXPO in Las Vegas that the company added an additional size to the range. Sizes for the thermal tees now include 6/12 months, 12/18 months, 18/24, 2/3 years and 4/5 years.
Crib Rock Couture entered the scene in May 2005, making its serendipitous debut at one of the decade's most high profile baby showers; Heather Locklear's shower for Denise Richard's. The tees were an instant hit with the Hollywood set and quickly grew from a handful of colorful infant raglan tees to a full range of cap sleeve tees (up to size 14), in addition to pants, clam diggers, jersey tees, onesies and now, thermals.
As with other aspects of the company, the rapid growth of the line has been unconventional as Crib Rock Couture isn't exclusively found in children's clothing boutiques.
"Our line attracts an eclectic buyer desiring superior quality, sophistication and some fun," reflects St. Jean, "and CRC is equally at home in an art gallery (like Spain's La Maison De L'Elephant) as it is in a children's clothing store." The tees now retail in specialty gift boutiques like Randoons and EJ Mirage of Illinois; and in exclusive women's wear and accessory shops like Cantaloup in NYC and ShopDaja.com in Fort Lauderdale - even in posh home design galleries like theCasaCollection.com. "I'm not certain what the common thread is among our retailers," notes St. Jean, "…other than the fact that our clientele have a chic aesthetic. How else can I say it? They're hip!" Other "hip retailers" nationwide include the ElegantChild.com of Beverly Hills, CA; Aldea's of San Francisco, CA; Britley Cade Child of Amarillio, TX; Meringue Boutique.com in Lake Oswego, OR; Genes Urban Baby outside Philadelphia, PA, and Denny's children's wear in 10 locations throughout New York and south Florida.
With a significant number of internet retail orders being placed abroad, Crib Rock Couture is also working with European representatives, devising distribution plans to reach these customers more effectively. Because they've recently realized the nursery rhyme concert series is also popular in countries where English is not the first language, like Spain, Greece and Japan. CRC's Founder and CEO Tracy Bobbitt says, "It's absolutely thrilling that the line is making it's way around the globe." CRC can currently be purchased through distributors Tiny People of Byron Bay, Australia; Mickio & the Guy in Cork, Ireland and SpreeFashions.com in Canada.
