BSL Productions was recently selected to provide lighting production services for the US Virgin Music Festival 2006, held at Pimlico Raceway, Baltimore, Maryland on September 23rd, 2006. Selected amongst a short list of the some of the largest lighting houses in the country, BSL was tasked with providing automated and conventional lighting systems for both the Grandstand Stage and the Club Stage.
On the Grandstand Stage, BSL utilized a combination of Synchrolight 8K’s, Martin MAC 2K washes Atomic 3K Strobes, 2K Xenon Supertrooper Followspots and a GrandMA Console. The Club Stage featured Vari-Lite 3K Spots and Washes, Diversitronic Strobes, 2K Xenon Supertrooper Followspots, and a Thomas PRT rig, all controlled by a WholeHog II Console with expansion wing.
The Grandstand Stage headliners included The Who and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. BSL Productions’ technicians worked closely with both band’s LD’s and Programmers to ensure everyone’s needs were met. Tom Kenny, LD for The Who was quoted saying about BSL... “loved working with you all...keep in touch and all I can say is brilliant job all around.” Leif Dixon, Programmer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers stated… “Overall I was quite pleased with the outcome of the show and I believe Scott feels the same. There were no surprises upon our arrival and we had a good night programming. Everyone was helpful and the two days we spent at the gig were problem free.”
In an effort to re-enter the entertainment market, after a brief hiatus spent focusing on the corporate market, BSL continues to pursue tours, festivals and concerts. “The Virgin Fest was a great opportunity for us to show both high profile acts, as well as up and coming national acts what are capabilities are. BSL is back and we will continue to make strides in the entertainment and touring markets,” says BSL Productions Inc. President, Ajay Patil.
BSL Productions provides full service Lighting Production, Rentals, Sales, Service and Installation services across the country.
