Resort Developer Innovates with Google Earth
Google Earth is changing the way people look at the world. Literally.
(PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- Free to everyone with a computer and an Internet connection, most users are now just a few clicks away from a 3D map of our planet.
Combining satellite images, aerial photography and a Geographic Information System (GIS), this downloadable virtual globe is fast replacing traditional paper and cardboard spheres.
What does this mean for travellers and tourists? The opportunity to visit and visually connect with your destination in advance and map out routes is an exciting new resource.
Made possible by a company called CanadaPlacemarks, Aviawest is the one of the first resort developers in Canada to join the listing service plugged directly into Google Earth.
“We are extremely excited about adding our properties to Google Earth through CanadaPlacemarks. The potential uses for a 3D mapping tool are endless and we look forward to growing with this service,” says Jim Pearson, CEO of Aviawest Resorts.
