G. Donovan Conwell Jr., one of the founding partners of Conwell,Sukhia & Kirkpatrick, P.A., has been appointed by Henry M. Coxe, III, president of the Florida Bar, to the inaugural committee for Intellectual Property Law Certification for a three year term.

Tampa, Fl (PRWEB) October 11, 2006 -- G. Conwell was one of only nine attorneys in the State of Florida appointed to serve on this committee.

As a member of the initial committee for certification in intellectual property law, Conwell will share the task of reviewing the first class of applicants for certification in intellectual property law, developing policy to implement the standards approved by the Florida Supreme Court, and drafting and administering the first examination.

To assist members of the public in finding a lawyer who is able to handle his or her particular legal situation or who has expertise in an area of the law relating to someone’s legal needs, the Florida Bar offers a “Board Certification’” program for Florida Bar members. The program is designed to help the public make an informed decision when seeking and selecting a lawyer. While all lawyers are allowed to advertise, only certified attorneys are allowed to identify themselves as “Florida Bar Board Certified” or as a “specialist”. Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida. Intellectual Property Law Certification was approved by the Supreme Court of Florida earlier this year.
