Porter Industries Hosts Open House Friday, Oct. 20; Company Celebrates its Recognition by the U.S. Green Building Council
Porter Industries will host a public open house on Friday, October 20th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m at the company's headquarters, located at 5202 Granite Street in Loveland, Colorado.
Loveland, Colorado (PRWEB) October 12, 2006 -- Porter Industries, the region's leading commercial and residential cleaning service, will host a public open house on Friday, October 20th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m at the company's headquarters, located at 5202 Granite Street in Loveland. The event is a celebration of the recent award to Porter Industries by the U.S. Green Building Council of LEED-EB Gold certification. The company is the first for-profit, private business in the Mountain States Region, the first building service contractor and just the eighth building in the nation to earn this designation.
"A major portion of the certification process revolves around sustainable cleaning practices that are safe, healthy and effective," said Steve Hendrickson, Porter's president and CEO. Porter representatives will be providing guided tours of the facility for those interested in learning more about the LEED-EB point system and green cleaning and sustainable operating practices. A video presentation, developed as part of the Northern ColoradoGreen Consortium with Media Tech Productions and the Institute for the Built Environment at Colorado State University, will also be shown. Refreshments will be served, and networking is encouraged.
The Porter Industries building features an energy-efficient design with perimeter offices, natural lighting, operable windows and hands-free washrooms. Its green business program includes green cleaning methods, as well as green purchasing, recycling and pest management. The company joins organizations such as the California Environmental Protection Agency, the National Geographic Society, and JohnsonDiversey that have also earned LEED-EB accreditation.
