Smash Mouth Frontman Steve Harwell Recovers from Back Surgery Prompting Cancellation of Live Performance Dates through November

Smash Mouth cancels live dates as frontman recovers from back surgery.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell is recovering from back surgery, prompting the cancellation of several live performance dates and band promotional commitments through mid-November. Harwell re-injured his back during a recent performance date. He previously suffered a ruptured disc in 2001.

Smash Mouth recently released a new CD entitled Summer Girl, produced by Jeff Saltzman (The Killers) and longtime collaborator Eric Valentine. New single “So Insane” is currently impacting radio as one of the most added singles at Hot/Modern AC. The single is also featured in the Revolution/Sony Film “Zoom” starring Tim Allen and Courtney Cox.

The prolific, multi-platinum selling band is widely acclaimed for its ultra catchy, melodically infectious, hybrid-sound which blends punk, ska, surf, rock and pop. The band’s classic hits and timeless appeal including “All Star” and “Walkin’ In The Sun” among others, have proven to endure the test of time.

Smash Mouth will resume performing November 18 in Austin, TX.
