New York, NY (PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- spurn will kill you….

…with laughter.

Spurn, the Off-Broadway sketch comedy group, returns to the city stage on October 4th in a highly anticipated three-week review. Performing at the 13th Street Reperatory Company, co-producer Ross A. McIntyre is thrilled to introduce the ways of spurn to a new audience and welcome old fans.

“Earlier this year we launched a series of video podcasts and we’ve been humbled by our dark horse supporters and extremely appreciative of the 40,000 viewers and 3,500 subscribers we’ve been able to corrupt. Now, we’ll have the opportunity to meet all these disturbed individuals!”

Under the new direction of acclaimed independent filmmaker Neil Turitz (Two Ninas, Knots) spurn continues their tradition of “hard-edged, envelope pushing, vaguely absurdist sensibility,” (NYTheater.com) and will no doubt “leave the audience gasping for breath between guffaws as relentlessly funny skits whip past.” (Village Voice)

Created in 2001, spurn has been presenting madcap whimsy the likes of which America has never seen. Disturbing and hilarious, spurn is a dark carnival of pathos and merriment. They have been favorably compared to Monty Python, Kids in the Hall and the 1963 World’s Fair. Their signature blend of bitter angst and sharp social commentary goes down easy and works with Atkins. And they’re funny. Did we mention that?
