Paraxip Technologies Releases Version 2.1 of its Open Media Gateway Software
Enhanced management and call processing capabilities of the Paraxip Gateway software target OEMs and managed Service providers in the IVR, contact center and IP-PBX market.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 12, 2006 -- Today at the Internet Telephony Expo in San Diego, Paraxip Technologies announced the availability of release 2.1 of its Paraxip Gateway product delivering further innovations that enable the seamless connectivity of SIP platforms and applications to legacy telephony equipment. The Paraxip Gateway is a unique software solution based on off-the-shelf hardware components. The software product provides unique benefits such as the capability to SIP-enable existing telephony cards reducing the cost associated with the transition to IP Telephony; the most complete call progress analysis capabilities in a media gateway yielding the best ROI of outbound dialing voice applications; the widest coverage of call transfer scenarios dramatically reducing operating costs; the Open Protocol Translation feature diminishing interoperability problems usually associated with hybrid deployments; and more.
The release 2.1 of the product introduces multiple enhancements including:
- Dynamic Routing Updates – This feature allows customers to dynamically update the routing rules, which are used both for protocol translation and for call routing capabilities. The feature brings unparalleled flexibility and cost effectiveness to the usage of the Open Protocol Translation feature. The feature allows modifying one or many call routing rules while the gateway is actively processing calls.
- Call Processing enhancements – Numerous enhancements continue to be added to Paraxip’s advanced call control feature set, such as: Siemens’ HiPath Single-Step transfer support via SIP, added support for TCP as the bearer protocol for SIP, custom tone relay, further transparency into ISDN detailed information elements via the Open Protocol Translation feature.
- Improved manageability and supportability – This release introduces numerous enhancements to improve the manageability and supportability of the product, most importantly for managed service providers in a multi-application hosted environment. These include enhanced tracing and diagnostic capabilities under load, more comprehensive reporting of telephony error codes and dynamic configuration updates.
