Long Branch, NJ (PRWEB) October 13, 2006
Aquatica Salon and Aquamedica Salon and Day Spas have teamed up with the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center to educate women about the importance of breast health. While there have been successful advances in both testing and treatment modalities, breast cancer continues to affect thousands of women and men each year.
On Monday, October 16, Aquatica and Aquamedica are donating a free day of indulgence and education, closing both facilities to the public, and opening for an important day of breast cancer awareness.
Women who have attended to their breast health at the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center, have been invited to a complimentary day of indulgence, and education.
Valentina Chistova, and her sons, Anatoliy and Sergey, owners of Aquatica and Aquamedica, and the breast center have created this “Day of Health and Beauty” to reward these women for taking care of themselves and their breast health. The invitation-only event is titled “Just for Her”.
Every employee, at both locations, has joined in the celebration by completely donating their services.
The guests will have the opportunity to indulge in some of the spas’ favorite personal touches from deep-tissue massages and facials to haircuts and colors. But, most importantly, they will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with medical professionals from the Breast Center to discuss continued breast health, including conducting breast self-examinations.
Dr. Melinda Staiger, M.D., medical director of the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center, points out that for some women, attending to breast health can be a scary experience. She hopes that the Just for Her event will “empower these women to continue their breast health regimens and to provide them with valuable information that they can pass on to their friends and families.”
Today’s women lead busy and demanding lives, leaving little time to take care of their own health. However, a healthy woman is better equipped to conquer the challenges that come her way. Life is all about making choices. Attending to breast health is vital in the early detection of breast cancer. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women between the ages of 40 and 55, with a diagnosis occurring once every two minutes. By year-end, more than 211,000 new cases of breast cancer are expected in the United States. Annual mammograms continue to be the best chance for detecting breast cancer early and can significantly improve chances of survival.
The Chistova family proudly sponsors this event and believes that those who are grateful for what they have must give back to the community. Valentina points out that “Just for Her keeps true to their philosophy that to care for the body is to nourish the spirit.”
This day of rejuvenation and hope will be complete with door prizes, gift bags and a gourmet medley of food provided by Branches of Eatontown.
