Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) October 12, 2006
U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology Robert C. Cresanti yesterday presented ODIN technologies with the department’s first-ever “Recognition of Excellence in Innovation” award. ODIN technologies President and Chief Executive Officer, Patrick J. Sweeney II, was present to receive the award at the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce in Fairfax, Virginia, USA.
This award recognizes innovators who have introduced a new product or service into the market, have utilized a new manufacturing process or have received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office within the last 12 months. ODIN technologies’ innovative software products, Scientific RFID Benchmark Research series and implementations such as the United States Defense Logistics Agency’s worldwide RFID roll-out qualified ODIN for the award.
Under Secretary Cresanti commented, "ODIN technologies is making RFID deployments more accurate, consistent and efficient to deploy. We were impressed that companies from all over the world come to ODIN for its unique expertise and optimization software. RFID is emerging as a new pervasive technology that is enabling greater efficiency and security in global supply chains, consumer transactions and access control. Through its dynamic leadership, ODIN is helping to create a new, fundamental understanding of RFID technology and the marketplace. Its innovations and its Benchmark Research are great examples of America's competitive leadership in RFID technology. ODIN technologies shows that you don’t have to be a big business to be relevant to the international economy," remarked Under Secretary Robert Cresanti.
Patrick J. Sweeney II, ODIN technologies President & CEO commented, “ODIN technologies’ sole mission is excellence in RFID deployments, research and the development of software tools such as EasyReaderTM that make RFID more accurate and easier to deploy. In recognition of that mission, the entire ODIN team is honored to receive the first-ever ‘Recognition of Excellence in Innovation’ award. We applaud Under Secretary Cresanti for his tireless efforts to promote innovation and improve the competitiveness of American companies. This award is just another example of Robert Cresenti’s work as a true champion of American innovation and job creation.”
