Click2Enter Set to Support US-Mexico Border Fence Project with Gate-Access System

Sonoma, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- Pete Sutsos, President and CEO of Click2Enter, Inc., has announced that the Click2Enter-I emergency gate access controller has been successfully installed on the US-Mexico Border Fence, signaling the beginning of a period of potentially explosive growth for this small Sonoma, California company. Click2Enter developed a patented device that allows U.S. Border Patrol agents to open the gates on the border fence with a click of their two-way radio.
Nine miles of the 14-mile fence along the southern edge of San Diego have been completed, using more than 30 Click2Enter-I units. With the passage of the Secure Fence Act, the Department of Homeland Security is required to have 700 miles of fencing completed by the end of 2008. Congress has approved $1.2 billion to fund the project.
The idea for Click2Enter grew out of Mr. Sutsos’ experiences as a deputy sheriff, where difficulty accessing gated areas was often a problem. After a fall off a fence while responding to a burglar alarm led to the end of his law enforcement career due to injury, Sutsos decided it was time to come up with a better solution. With the objective of eliminating the need for keys, key cards, special codes, or other traditional methods, Sutsos developed the idea of using the radio frequency assigned to public safety department’s two-way radio transceivers to trigger gate access. By programming Federally controlled radio frequencies into the database of the Click2Enter-I device, appropriate security is maintained and access is achieved with the click of the radio transceiver. This is a patented, unique product for Click2Enter, which operates out of the home of Mr. Sutsos. Those days might be about to end as demand for the product increases.
Since the first units were sold six years ago, the Click2Enter-I system has been installed across the country, from the gated communities of Hilton Head Island, to the City of Vallejo, California. Click2Enter-I is being used for gate and door access control at hospitals, airports, gated communities, police and fire stations, and now the U.S. – Mexico border fence. Many municipalities are moving to amend their Building Codes to mandate the use of Click2Enter-I where emergency access for police, fire, and rescue responders is required.
