Online Alumni Community Launched for Waseca Schools

Billed as "the online community for Waseca alumni," a new online community for alumni of Waseca, Minnesota, schools has been launched. It will provide an online way for alumni of Waseca schools to stay connected with their classmates, friends, and town according to its founder, Chuck Lucas.

Andover, MN (PRWEB) October 15, 2006 -- Billed as "the online community for Waseca alumni," a new online community for alumni of Waseca, Minnesota, schools has been launched. It will provide an online way for alumni of Waseca schools to stay connected with their classmates, friends, and town according to its founder, Chuck Lucas, a 1959 graduate of Waseca Central High School.

"This will be a home town alternative to what Classmates, Reunion, and similar sites offer in their generic way," said Lucas. "It will be geared to meeting the specific needs of Waseca alumni including those who have left the community."

The web site is expected to be of interest to anyone who has ever attended the schools plus administrators, faculty, and staff. Lucas said other Waseca expatriots will also be interested in what the site has to offer.

The site features free and members-only content. Free content includes images of Lucas' collection of vintage post cards and photographs picturing Waseca and the area.

Lucas also compiles weekly "Looking Back at Waseca History" articles from 25, 50, 75, and 100 year old Waseca newspapers that are emailed free to subscribers. Following their email distribution, they are archived as public, free content on the site. The articles are in two categories of interest to Wasecans, general Waseca history and Waseca sports history.

Members-only content includes a discussion forum and member profiles. Lucas said he also plans to add occasional articles and interviews.

The introductory subscription price is a low annual fee. Early subscribers will be able to renew their subscription at their low original subscription price as long as they continuously maintain their membership.
