Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) October 17, 2006 –-
Following its successful launch this Fall, The Gibson Girl introduces its new line of holiday bags, according to its designer, Jillian Gibson of Alexandria, Virginia. The original Gibson Girl, a creation of early 20th Century painter/illustrator, Charles Dana Gibson, was the model of femininity and sophistication in the early 1900s.
“I love this time of year because the holidays bring out such distinctive colors and fabrics,” said Ms. Gibson. “To me, velvet is the perfect fabric for the holidays – it’s so soft and warm and the colors lend themselves to the season.”
The four individual designs of Holiday Bags are made of silk velvet (82% rayon, 18% silk) and are lined with complementary 100% silk Scottish tartan in honor of the Gibson Scottish heritage. Holiday bags are available in deep green (“Ivy”) and blue (“Indigo”) and a black French embroidered velvet (“Moonburst”). In addition, there is a cranberry velvet bag (“Jewels”), which is trimmed with cranberry and green seed pearls and beads. Each bag is then finished with a gold or silver purse frame and handle, some decorated with rhinestones. Retail prices start at $200.
Like the original Gibson Girl Special Occasion bags, the Gibson Girl Holiday bags pouch design allows for a cell phone, reading glasses, money purse, keys, lipstick and a comb. All Gibson Girl bags are custom-designed and hand-crafted by Jillian Gibson.
