Sales Trainer and Author Celebrates 80th Birthday with Ten Bottles of Fine Wine

Well-known Author Wes Zimmerman's 80th birthday celebration and open house included memorabilia from the past 80 years, reunited family and friends, ten bottles of fine wine and visits from some of the many people he has helped over the years.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) October 17, 2006 -- Wes Zimmerman's 80th birthday celebration and open house included memorabilia from the past 80 years, reunited family and friends, ten bottles of fine wine and visits from some of the many people he has helped over the years. Ever since a late night hill top experience, Wesley Zimmerman has been helping others. He has never forgotten that experience, nor one of his Dad’s oft’ repeated sayings: “Don’t be afraid to be different. If you are the same as everyone else you are nothing. Decide who you are and what you are and don’t look back.”

This admonition has enabled him to help dozens of small companies to grow, and hundreds of individuals to richer lives. To Wes, being different meant you helped people privately, without telling others, so they could shine in their success. He did it as a plant manager, master salesman, marketer, and mentor, all over the world. He did it with gusto, and love.

The invitations to Wesley Zimmerman’s birthday open house said; “He was born to be wild and he’s still wild.” These words were under a 1946 picture of him on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and one taken of him recently on his present Harley, a 1997 recreation of the one he used when courting Amy, his wife. The leather jacket was black then, now it’s white, in the same style.

The wine has a story also. It was actually two bottles; an Imperial of 1978 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and a Magnum of California Ruby Cabernet, crushed, fermented, and bottled by Wes and his friends in 1998. The Imperial holds eight standard bottles of wine, the magnum holds two. The Imperial was a gift to Wes and Amy on their 40th anniversary in 1990. More than 62 friends helped them drink that wonderful wine. It had aged to perfection. The Ruby Cabernet was declared very good, but needing additional age.

Wes remarked, “It was a wonderful 80th birthday celebration. I have spent my life helping others and been richly blessed in doing it.”
