Illuminated Art Piece Captures Ocean’s Spectacular Sea Glass Jewels
Unique artistic sea glass lighting created by local Maine artist Leslie Connell, who recently founded Maine Sea Glass Works (www.maineseaglassworks.com). These beautiful creations are truly one-of-a-kind, and the perfect gift for friends and family.
Sprucehead, Maine (PRWEB) October 17, 2006 -- Beautiful, unique and each a work of art, folk artist Leslie Connell’s sea glass lights are a one-of-a-kind creation. Each lantern is hand-crafted, offering colorful gems from the sea. The lanterns may be used as artistic accent lighting or add a soft glow to any room.
As a child, Connell spent her summers in Maine and loved searching for treasures on the beach. She never outgrew her desire to seek and collect these ocean jewels. Inspired by the beauty of the island in Maine, where she now lives year-round, and equipped with literally thousand’s of pieces of sea glass, she began creating her artistic sea glass lights. When friends and family began requesting the lights for themselves, as well as for unique and special-occasion gift items, she decided to turn her love into a business venture and founded Maine Sea Glass Works (www.MaineSeaGlassWorks.com).
What was born as an idea to capture the essence of her island coastline in a jar, Maine Sea Glass Works brings Connell’s inspiration to the consumer and her wish to bring all the textures and colors of her seaside family home to families across America.
And whether living on a beautiful coast, a lake, on the great plains, or literally anywhere from sea to shining sea, Connell’s sea glass lights will add a touch of ocean beauty.
Connell, who lives on Spruce Head Island on the Maine coast, is married to a lobsterman. They have three dogs and one cat.
