(PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- Nelson and Nelson is proud to announce that our store located at 445 Park Avenue, New York, N.Y. is hosting "The Connoisseur Collection" by John Jaffa and The Antique Enamel Company. This is a magnificent exhibition and sale featuring fine European enamels, rare gold boxes, perfume bottles and exquisite and Russian Fabergé's objects.

John Jaffa is a distinguished dealer, based in London's prestigious Regents Street, where he and his highly knowledgeable team of experts have spent 30 years helping private and corporate clients worldwide to build fine collections, many of which have subsequently been displayed in major museums throughout the world. Although he has displayed regularly at antiques shows in Singapore, Europe and the United States, this is his first private showing and we are thrilled to welcome him and his personable assistant to our store and to New York City.

John has brought approximately 400 unique and magnificent items from his extensive collection, many of which have never been seen in New York before. The Antique Enamel Company has the largest collection of Battersea enamel boxes in the world and John has brought an impressive selection especially for this sale and exhibition. The piece-de-resistance of this group is a truly sensational mid 18th century tea pot, worthy of inclusion in any fine museum and probably the only one of its kind in existence. Other items, all rare and unusual and of magnificent quality, include fine Russian cloisonne and enamels, a collection of Chelsea scent bottles, a comprehensive collection of mid 19th century Viennese rock crystal and enamel pieces (including several items made by the esteemed craftsman, Ratzendorfa), exquisitely-detailed micro-mosaic boxes and plaques, items from the former collections of the Rothschilds, and three truly exceptional museum-quality items made by the renowned and highly-skilled Georgian goldsmith, James Cox.

Complementing John's beautiful merchandise in our store is a selection of the finest quality sterling silver. Nelson and Nelson has recently acquired some very special new items including a wonderful Tiffany "Chrysanthemum" pattern punch bowl, a variety of Tiffany mixed metal objects, an impressive selection of figural sterling silver birds and animals, and magnificent items of Gorham's exclusive and rare hand-made "Martele" line.

We are truly thrilled at the opportunity to present this exceptional exhibition in conjunction with our own large and magnificent selection of sterling silver. The exhibition is on display during our normal store hours, Monday-Saturday 11 a.m.-5.30 p.m. We will also be open on Sunday 15th October from 12 noon-5 p.m. All are welcome and we hope that people will take the opportunity to see these rare and wonderful objects.    For inquiries please call us at 212-980-5825 or visit our web site at wwwNelsonandNelsonAntiques.com.
