Visionary Now Offering DSL in Sundance
Visionary Communications has expanded the company's DSL coverage to the Wyoming town of Sundance, a community of 1,200 people. The addition of Sundance marks the 46th town served by Visionary's broadband service.
Sundance, WY (PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- Visionary Communications has completed a network build-out to support broadband DSL in Sundance, Wyoming. The addition of Digital Subscriber Line to the company's existing wireless broadband service increases Visionary's broadband penetration in Sundance. This dramatically improves Internet service options in the rural Wyoming community of 1,200 people.
Visionary delivers DSL through an agreement with Range Telephone, the local telephone company in Sundance. DSL loops for Visionary's customer are ordered as line-share DSL on the customer's Range Telephone line. Broadband traffic is then carried to Visionary's network, where the customer receives an Internet address and then is sent out to the public Internet via Billings, Denver, or Seattle.
"Visionary has long touted itself as a technology-agnostic company," says Brian Worthen, President and CEO of the company. "We could embrace a single Internet technology, but that wouldn't provide our customers with the broadband options we want them to have."
Worthen explains that Visionary's intent is to deliver the most diverse broadband offerings to their customers, thereby bringing additional value to each community they serve with Internet. The company is focused on delivering business-class services - they have structured their DSL service in Sundance as a product they can fully service. Visionary provides a single point of contact for the DSL product, delivering the highest quality of service to their DSL customer.
"The ability to take a DSL connection in Sundance, a DSL connection in Worland, and then bridge them into a DSL connection in Casper to create a private network is a product that only Visionary has," states Worthen. "Our business customers realize the value of this service, and we've positioned ourselves to simplify our customer's Internet experience."
Visionary's agreement to offer DSL on Range Telephone's lines comes on the heels of their announcement expanding DSL coverage in nine additional communities in Wyoming.
Visionary Communications is Wyoming's pioneering broadband provider, offering DSL in 46 Wyoming communities, and wireless broadband in 12 Wyoming communities. The company provides internet services in more than 90 towns and cities.
