Readers' copies of new fiction are offered in grassroots book PR program from Blueline Publicity and Peter E. Randall Publisher. Portsmouth, NH (PRWEB) October 18, 2006

Blueline Publicity is launching a grassroots, viral marketing program to introduce new fiction to readers in the New England area. The program, called “Read New Fiction,” is designed to gather support for books and for authors by sharing a limited number of reading copies of a new fiction title with a select group of readers. The program guidelines ask for a reader to register by providing contact information, and to give a written response to the book within one month of pick-up, using either email, or regular mail. If they enjoy the book, they are asked to offer invitations to others in the area who would enjoy meeting the author at an upcoming area event. Readers can pick up copies of the book offered, and guidelines for participation in the program, at RiverRun Bookstore in Portsmouth. Information on the new program is also available by contacting Deidre Randall by e-mail or by calling 603-205-0552.

The first title featured in Read New Fiction is "Firebelly" by JC Michaels, published by Philograph Press, http://www.firebellythebook.com , in Newton, MA.

Imagine a story reminiscent of Watership Down, or Jonathan Livingston Seagull and make your main character an Oriental Firebelly Toad, named Missing Pieces. Kirkus Reviews calls it, “An engaging and quirky view of philosophy from the perspective of an unlikely sage: the Oriental Firebelly Toad...This philosopher’s fantasy ... makes existentialism a la Heidegger or Sartre go down easier than the masters ever made it.” BookPeasures.com says, “Michaels uses clear, thoughtful language to make us think difficult thoughts. As a parable, Firebelly illuminates and elucidates the ideas of being and freedom and caring. The story is both enjoyable as a tale, and mind-stretching as an allegory. Readers my choose to return to this book often for its calm voice and complex of subtle philosophical ideas conveyed with simple language, elegant structure, and engaging wit.”

The book, "Firebelly," is the winner of numerous awards for design, as well as content, such as: ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year Award in Philosophy, Literary, Fiction, and Young Adult Fiction (Finalist), Writers Notes Magazine’s Writers Notes Award for Young Adult Fiction (1st Runner Up), Publishers Marketing Association’s Benjamin Franklin Award for Best First Book of Fiction (Finalist), Independent Publisher’s IPPY Award for Adult Fiction and Best Book Arts Craftsmanship (semi-finalist), New England Book Show 2005’s Excellence in Design for Paperback and for Limited Edition Hardcover, and a Franklin Award for Excellence from the Graphics Arts Association for Case Binding and Cover Design. JC Michaels is both the author and the designer of this unique title.

Already being translated for publication in Puerto Rico and in Armenia, with other foreign publishers making offers, this title is just beginning to gather fans in the US, outside the Boston area. Hollywood is showing an interest as well and a screenplay has been optioned and is under development. Blueline Publicity, http://www.bluelinepublicity.com , is proud to feature Firebelly as its first title in the Read New Fiction program.
