The new IP-based dictation process offered by WinScribe helps law firms reduce operating costs tied to the purchase of dictation hardware and traditional toll-call charges for dictations, particularly from satellite offices or off-site locations.
Firms that run a WinScribe dictation system on their IP-based PBXs don’t need to invest in dictation hardware such as handheld microphones or digital portables as they can simply use their IP-desktop telephones or softphones to record dictations. Softphones are applications that run on PCs or notebooks and allow users to make IP-based calls with a headset. Attorneys can also use a Blackberry or other PDAs to call into the WinScribe system and record dictation.
