desktopsites Inc. (“desktopsites”), a rapidly emerging leader in access serverware for small and mid-size businesses, is pleased to announce that it has attained Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program as an Independent Software Vendor (“ISV”).

The Microsoft ISV / Software Solutions Competency recognizes the skill and focus technology partners bring to a particular solution set. Microsoft Certified Partners that have obtained this competency have a record of developing and marketing packaged software built predominantly on Microsoft-based technologies.

desktopsites has just recently completed a re-development effort to migrate its emerging Konect™ technology off of the Java platform to the Microsoft .NET-based platform. Built entirely on .NET Framework 1.1, this new version of Konect takes full advantage of web services and an enhanced security model. As the Konect solution is adopted by more small and mid-size businesses, desktopsites realized the value of providing a more scalable, reliable and extensible version of Konect that would fully leverage the Microsoft stack of technologies.

“The Microsoft Certified Partner status is recognition of desktopsites’ ongoing development effort and commitment to delivering the best possible application publishing / remote access solution to small and mid-size customers with Konect,” states Alex Bethlehem, President and CEO of desktopsites. “We see tremendous value for our customers with this .NET-based version of Konect and our new level of Certified Partner status with Microsoft. With Microsoft’s specialized partner standards, attainment of this certification is indicative of the high quality of our Konect solution and the high level of standards applied to ensure client satisfaction.”

“Microsoft is pleased to extend Certified Partner status to desktopsites for their innovative Konect solution,” said Lora Gernon, Director, Partner Group, Microsoft Canada Co. “Microsoft works hard with technology partners to make Microsoft Certified Partner status a symbol of excellence and today, Microsoft recognizes desktopsites for its skills and expertise in providing customer satisfaction with Microsoft-based products and technologies. We are excited about the future prospects for the Konect solution in the small and mid-size customer market.”

As part of the Microsoft Partner Program, desktopsites gains access to Microsoft’s wealth of customer focused resources including training, marketing and sales tools, technical and phone support and many other benefits designed to support desktopsites’ continued success with Konect.
