High-tech veteran brings extensive global experience in systems product marketing.

TAGSYS, the global leader in item-level RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) infrastructure, today announced that Fred Kohout has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Kohout will have responsibility for all of the company’s product, program and partner marketing.

A 25 year veteran of media and high-tech marketing, Kohout brings a wealth of experience in taking new technology and brands to market. Prior to joining TAGSYS, Kohout held several executive positions at Sun Microsystems, an international industry leader in servers, storage, software and services focusing on network computing, including Vice President of Marketing for SPARC Server products, Vice President of the Client Software Group and Vice President Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

A Seattle resident, Kohout is a graduate of Central Washington State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
