Customers now offered an SAP-centric Mobile Foundation supporting NetWeaver mobile applications.

Aware Interweave Inc., a leading provider of SAP Enterprise Mobility software, today announced that the Executive Co-PilotTM has achieved “Powered by SAP NetWeaver®” status. Aware Interweave delivers its market-leading mobile management platform and applications on the SAP NetWeaver® Web Application Server (WAS) with integration to the SAP NetWeaver Portal. The announcement was made today at SAP TECHED® ’06 Amsterdam, SAP’s technology and innovation conference.

Customers can efficiently and easily deploy the Executive Co-Pilot platform and solutions in their SAP NetWeaver-based environment using the standard SAP Software Deployment Manager (SDM) and the Enterprise Portal Transport tools. This leading-edge solution “mobilizes the portal” and delivers the value of enterprise services to companies through the following:

  • Simplified Mobile Web Dynpro Application Deployment – Through a complete Portal-based interface delivered to run independently or as a portal business package, administrations can deploy Mobile Web Dynpro applications through its powerful role-based user assignment, and provide a single point of control for mobile applications.
  • Role-based Architecture – the Executive Co-Pilot (Foundation) provides an infrastructure for defining roles based on business or technical functions to users in the Enterprise Portal User Management Engine (UME) or LDAP. This unifies user maintenance and ensures consistent business function assignment across process experts. Web Dynpro applications can be deployed equivalently to portal roles and Co-Pilot roles, seamlessly enabling the enterprise applications from the desktop to the handheld device.

  • Dynamic Multi-Level Menus – the Executive Co-Pilot (Foundation) allows you to quickly and easily define menus and navigation on mobile devices, reducing the number of “clicks-to-applications”. These customized hierarchies are assigned to roles for users giving them a personalized, user friendly and intuitive flow for individual or groups of mobile applications.
  • Device Agnostic Mobile Connectivity – The Executive Co-Pilot provides a platform for mobile applications via the browser making the applications device agnostic simplifying the development process.

According to Joe Blythe, SAP’s Industry Principal for the Mid Market Industry Group., “The SAP industry groups expect the Executive Co-Pilot from Aware Interweave to provide great benefits to SAP clients and new prospects in the mobile space; enabling them to leverage the technology advantages of SAP’s infrastructure and significantly enhance the return on all their technology investment.”

“Executive Co-Pilot “Powered by NetWeaver” certification signifies our continued commitment to SAP’s NetWeaver infrastructure and SAP’s mobile client base, providing the basis for industry specific solutions supporting devices as diverse as those from Research in Motion, Palm, Intermec and Symbol,” said Kim Obermair, President and co-founder of Aware Interweave. “With this certification, customers using SAP solutions now have an SAP-centric mobile foundation that supports SAP’s mobile roadmap and simplifies the implementation of Mobile Web Dynpro applications, resulting in a faster ROI and lower total cost of ownership.”
