The Town of Somerset has a letter to elected officials in Niagara County and Western New York that clarifies the Town of Somerset’s, and the Barker Central School District’s, positions related to the request by AES Somerset, LLC, for a Payment in Lieu of Tax (PILOT) from the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). The Barker Central School District Board of Education has scheduled a public meeting for Thursday, October 19, 2006. The meeting will take place at the Herbert F. Ludwig Fine Arts Hall, Barker High School, in the Village of Barker, New York. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm.

The Niagara County IDA has called a public hearing regarding the PILOT application in the Town of Somerset for Tuesday, October 24, 2006. This meeting will be convened at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall, 8700 Haight Road, Barker, NY. However, due to the number of attendees, the meeting will immediately adjourn and will move to the Herbert F. Ludwig Fine Arts Hall (Auditorium), Barker High School, in the Village of Barker, New York. Please come to the Auditorium at 6:00 pm for this meeting.
