Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 18, 2006
Now, figure skating fans around the world can get the latest professional and personal news about their favorite stars whenever and wherever they want. All the content is free and available for delivery on the latest portable media player or computer connected to the Internet. The World Figure Skating Report is available at http://www.WFSReport.com as webcasts and for downloads as podcasts, allowing everyone immediate access to the exciting world of figure skating.
The World Figure Skating Report is a joint venture between Major League Figure Skating and International Figure Skating magazine. International Figure Skating magazine's top-notch editorial staff provides the news and interviews for the reports. Major League Figure Skating brings its production expertise, as producers of network television, to create, produce and develop this project. Users can go to the site to view the webcasts or choose to have all the World Figure Skating Report interviews and newscasts delivered automatically via RSS feeds.
The project was conceived by Jon Rubin, founder of Major League Figure Skating. Rubin has been involved in figure skating as a former U.S. Figure Skating judge and as a television producer. He saw the need for such an outlet. “We are thrilled that we will be able, through the Internet, to bring the exciting world of figure skating instantly to the millions of fans all over the world,” Rubin said.
“We are pleased to offer this new format for people, from fans of the sport to those involved in the industry, to stay up to date on all the news,” said Susan Wessling, IFS Editor in Chief. “Along with regular newscasts and updates from events and competitions, we conduct in-depth interviews from the stars of the sport. Visitors to the site will hear elite skaters, coaches, choreographers and other industry experts talk about their experiences, both on and off the ice.”
The site currently has a three-part conversation with three-time and reigning U.S. champion Johnny Weir (Parts 1 and 2 are available now) and an interview with 2006 U.S. bronze medalist Emily Hughes.
The latest news regarding Sasha Cohen, Michelle Kwan and Irina Slutskaya are also included in first newscast on the site. And there's plenty of personal news to catch up on as well. A jam-packed schedule of webcasts and podcasts are planned, so users are invited to check back often for all the latest updates.
