AIIM NE Chapter Season Kick-Off Program Announces Boston Mayor Thomas Menino as Keynote Speaker at JFK Library
A unique perspective on information management. John Cullinane, CEO Cullinane Group, will also speak.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 22, 2006 -- The New England Chapter of AIIM -- The Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Association -- announces its program for the opening event of the 2007 season, which includes four dynamic speakers, lunch, and a tour of the JFK Presidential Library. The program will be on Thursday October 26th from 8am -1pm
The New England Chapter is proud to present the Honorable Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of Boston, as its keynote for the program which will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 8am -1pm at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston, MA. Advance registration is required -- visit www.aiimne.org.
As Mayor, Mr. Menino oversees an extensive and varied infrastructure with widely disparate information requirements, and his unique perspective on information management will be of keen interest to everyone.
John Cullinane, CEO, Cullinane Group, is on the board of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and was Chairman of the Board of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation for seven years from its inception in 1984. He will speak about the Library's efforts to digitize its collections.
John Chickering, Vice President at Fidelity Investments, will present “A Technologist’s View of Information Management”. Mr. Chickering will share his view on how we manage information today using approaches that are startlingly similar to techniques used thousands of years ago. As we look ahead to what some call the Information Age, he'll examine how we can apply the promise of ECM tools, techniques and skills to deliver real business value.
Peggy Winton, Vice President, AIIM, will present “ECM Moves to the Mainstream: it’s not just for the Fortune 500 anymore,” focusing on how smaller and smaller organizations are adopting ECM principles. Ms. Winton’s responsibility for the strategic direction of all activities aimed at the end-user and supplier communities of AIIM uniquely qualifies her to talk about the policies, practices and perceptions of what ECM technologies can accomplish.
The Kennedy Library provides a fitting venue for the Chapter’s kick-off program. With its collection of historical materials chronicling mid-20th century politics and the life and administration of John F. Kennedy, the Library is a repository for records, information and data and, given the content stored and managed there, is a perfect setting for the Chapter’s focus on Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions.
AIIM President, John F. Mancini, stated, “The New England Chapter has put together a strong program for the launch of its 2007 season and we are honored to have Mayor Menino as the keynote speaker. This event will provide an impressive perspective on information capture, records management, and process and document control, issues which concern all types of service providers as well as end users.”
The Chapter will continue to sponsor a series of programs leading up to the AIIM Expo and Conference, to be held April 16 -19 at Boston’s new convention center. That event is expected to bring in 30,000 attendees to the city and will be the largest event at the Convention Center thus far.
