Jade Howe announces the sale and partnership of the Howe brand and company to Seattle Pacific Industries, Inc., (SPI). SPI’s ownership will infuse capital for global expansion, fund new designer collections, maintain the excellent distribution Howe has established, and fuel the opening of Howe branded stores. SPI brings 25 years of experience to capitalize and execute the Howe brand’s future expansion and infrastructure goals.

Howe was founded in 2001 in California’s trend-setting Orange County. The brainchild of accomplished designer, Jade Howe, the brand is an irreverent, contemporary concept that pioneered Jade’s “cowboy punk meets English country gentleman,” vision. The Howe brand’s loyal following of artists, musicians, creative entrepreneurs, and the new type of business-meets-street professional is a testament to the brand’s authenticity and extraordinary potential. Some of the recent style icons wearing Howe include Ashton Kutcher, Gilby Clark, Franz Ferdinand, Tony Hawk, Weezer Chester-Bennington of Linkin’ Park, The Rock, Peter Murphy of Bauhaus and Tommy Lee.

Designer Jade Howe will remain the brand’s creative director and inspiration. Jade Howe’s vision, to redefine American men’s styling by creating the next great premium lifestyle brand for men aged 22-40, will now be expertly guided and invigorated by SPI. Under Jade Howe’s creative direction, the Howe brand will continue to be a truly unique and transforming creative symbol. Howe legitimately personifies the current convergence of skate, street and indie fashion as evidenced by its distribution channels that include the most prestigious high-end specialty and department stores as well as select skate and surf retailers. The brand is sold in better boutiques and department stores throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Japan.

Jade Howe says of the sale, “For some time, Seattle Pacific Industries, Inc (SPI) has looked for the right premium fashion label to build and expand globally; so it’s a great fit. They completely believe in the Howe vision. Five years ago we started a unique look with the goal of changing the way men dress – and now it’s finally exploding on a cultural and retail level.”

SPI is a Seattle-based, respected industry leader who has a proven track record of successfully launching and growing its own brands globally and today owns an impressive stable of both upscale and mid-tier apparel and accessory brands.

Steve Ritchey, SPI’s President said, “Our established history of global brand building and expertise in manufacturing allows SPI to help the Howe brand catapult to the next level of growth. Our extensive infrastructure, operational and sales expertise, and the ability to infuse our resources into Howe, will ensure opportunities and growth for Howe’s future. We are excited that our experience will finally allow the Howe brand, and Jade Howe specifically, to focus on what they do best -- incredible design, vision and marketing.“

Ritchey continues, “Truly authentic brands are essential to a company’s survival because of their authentic connection to the consumer. There is no better example of that than Howe. In that sense, our relationship with Jade Howe is really all about SPI helping him build his dream into a hugely successful lifestyle brand.“

The Howe brand brilliantly blends European fashion trends and fabrications with a popular aesthetic. The brand has won raves for its strong original graphics, treatments and details. The line includes premium slim-fit denim jeans, non-denim bottoms, sophisticated printed wovens, tailored blazers, innovative graphics, sweaters, high-end T-shirts and fleece, and accessories. Every piece from the Howe collection displays extraordinary style and a unique flavor. The line, which combines West Coast alternative-music lifestyle influences with an English tailoring feel, retails at and opening price point of $49 for tees and goes up to $400 for tailored blazers.

Jade Howe is the recipient of the Stuff Magazine Style Award, which he received (along with Kanye West, Giorgio Armani, John Varvatos, & Kings of Leon) in recognition of the cultural impact of the Howe look and lifestyle.

“To have all of this come full circle is a dream come true -- now we have the right partner to make it happen,” Howe adds.
