Pop/Rock Artist Heather Schmid shines at the Women's World Awards.

(PRWEB) October 20, 2006 -- International Recording Artist Heather Schmid is among admired company at the 3rd annual Women’s World Awards on October 14, at the Manhattan Theatre in New York City. Hollywood superstars Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Supermodel Claudia Schiffer and HM Queen Noor of Jordan were among the women honored by President Mikhail Gorbachev at this year's star-studded gala ceremony.

Heather wore a stunning red floor length mermaid gown designed by Pamella Rowland.

H. Stern selected several special pieces of jewelry for the occasion. Stylists Mario and Maurizio of The John Barrett Salon at the Bergdorf Goodman penthouse created a confident look. ‘I was so relaxed and comfortable’, said Heather of the preparations. Over 100 press photographers were on hand to capture the evenings’ red carpet arrivals. Ms. Schmid arrived to photographers yelling her name jockeying to get a good shot for their publications.

Once inside, Heather interviewed with Business Weekly and several international publications about her current tour with ‘The Goddess Within’. Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and President Gorbachev spoke with Heather about the charity and tour of her album ‘The Goddess Within’. Heather stated: ‘The Goddess Within is music, charity, strength, sensuality and power of women blend together to create a new shift in paradigm in the world of music. This to which one reporter responded: ‘finally someone is exporting all the best of America!”
