Man is Pitted Against a Wild Animal in Nail-Biting Thriller

A vicious puma invades a small Southern town in seasoned hunter Ted Gragg’s terrifying true-to-life novel, "Puma."

Conway, SC (PRWEB) October 22, 2006 -- In his new book, "Puma," hunter Ted Gragg explores the price humans pay when they nurture and protect wild animals from extinction. When a puma is injured in a hurricane, the animal ventures into a small town, targeting the inhabitants for its dinner.

Lifelong National Rifle Association member and author Ted Gragg knows the call of the wild firsthand. A former deputy law enforcement officer of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, he’s hunted in the Carolina woods since boyhood. Gragg understands what happens when a growing human population begins to use wilderness lands for its own recreation and enjoyment, bringing people into closer contact with predators that instinctively attack.

Based on Gragg’s personal experiences and extensive research, "Puma" is stunningly authentic in its depiction of Carolina’s mysterious blackwater swamps, its colorful people and the frightening puma itself. A modern day “Jaws with claws,” "Puma" is a jaw-dropping and thrilling hunting adventure that grabs hold and never lets go.

“I’ll never go into the wild again without that feeling of being watched. A must read.”
- Steve King, S.C. Field Representative, National Rifle Association
