Douglas McGaughey, CPP, Discusses Terrorism: Metamorphasis, Methods and Mitigation

Douglas M. McGaughey, CPP, 29-TEN, discussed the Terrorist Cycle, one facet of his seminar titled, "Terrorism: Metamorphosis, Methods and Mitigation" with interested Government and Civic Groups as a threat reduction tool in the Global War on Terrorism.

Annapolis, MD. (PRWEB) October 22, 2006 -- BBC News provided on 18 October, 2006 that UK counter-terrorism officials stated that, “Al-Qaeda has become more organised and sophisticated and has made Britain its top target..” The month before it was France, and next month it may be us. This being the case, Douglas M. McGaughey, CPP, a retired U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent and Board Certified Protection Professional (CPP), explained that there are definite patterns to terrorist incidents, and by evaluating these patterns we can mitigate the risks to our families, our communities our businesses and our country.

In his 28-year career in the military, Government contracting and corporate security arenas, Mr. McGaughey has presented numerous threat evaluations and implemented counter-measures for military, civilian and Government activities in Europe, and in support of United Nations and NATO global operations. He further explained that there are between six and 14 steps in every terrorist incident, whether perpetrated by Al Qaeda groups in Afghanistan, Hamas cells in Israel, or Timothy McVeigh when he bombed the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. His briefings focus on these 14-steps and how the terrorist threat can be reduced through the education of the citizenry.

29-TEN provides these training and education seminars to interested public and private activities and through their quarterly updates CD’s, “Terrorism: Metamorphosis, Methods and Mitigation”.

If a terrorist can sit in a house in Damascus, Syria and collect information on your organization from half way around the world, determine your capabilities and weaknesses, and launch an attack without ever leaving his desk – we have serious problems. Attendees to one of 29-TEN’s seminars or reviewing one of their CD’s will become more aware of the global terrorist threats, methods of operation, personalities and threat reduction methods.
