Navy Researcher Uses His Experiences to Create a Terrifying Futuristic Novel

"Planet of Ice" by David Mohr tells how corruption, politics and incompetence caused the catastrophic destruction of a major Navy base.

Dalton, GA (PRWEB) October 22, 2006 -- David Mohr’s stunning new novel, "Planet of Ice," is a futuristic tale of a deadly explosion that destroys a major US Navy research base on the Jovian satellite of Ganymede. A gripping story of survival, it is also a fascinating look into the inner workings of the Navy.

David Mohr’s enthralling sci-fi drama about catastrophe and survival is set in the year 2159. When the Ganymede planetary station is destroyed, it’s not an act of God, but a result of human nature, political decisions and bureaucratic incompetence. Of the 903 people assigned to the station, only 44 are eventually rescued. Decent people are thrown into chaos and must make life-and-death decisions. Mohr hones in on their intense struggle to stay alive.

Full of insider information about how the Navy works, "Planet of Ice" also offers a fascinating look at technology, love and betrayal. In light of the tragedies going on today, such as Hurricane Katrina, Mohr’s story shows how calamities can bring out the best and the worst in people, and how ultimately life finds a way to survive even in the bleakest circumstances.
