Limor Schafman of KeystoneTech Group Speaks at Digital Hollywood P2P Media Summit LA on IPv6

Digital Hollywood is where media meets technology. Limor Schafman, President of KeystoneTech Group and of the IPv6 Forum-Israel, will lead a special IPv6 workshop at the Distributed Computing Industry Association’s (DCIA) P2P Media Summit LA on Monday, October 23rd, the opening day of this year’s Digital Hollywood’s fall conference.

(PRWEB) October 21, 2006 -- IPv6 captured the attention of the commercial sector when the US government declared its mandate for IPv6 enablement for its agencies by June, 2008. Juniper, Cisco, Microsoft, and many other companies for years had contributed to the development of the protocol. The US government's declaration of intent began the market movement in infrastructure.

Now it’s time to make the clarion call to the commercial sector for applications for IPv6. And there is no place better to do this than at Digital Hollywood and the P2P Media Summit LA. None have higher stakes in taking advantage of all that IPv6 has to offer than the industries of music, film, videogames, and entertainment media in general. And none are better positioned to help these entities realize that potential than those engaged in commercial development of peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies. Combine this with IP-ready (Internet Protocol ready) products such as TVs, Radios, PDAs, iPods, Zunes, Play Station 3s, all-mobile devices, etc., and a digital distribution revolution may be in the makings.

"IPv6 enables true P2P connectivity, seamless mobility, multicasting, and a myriad of other unique features. These capabilities married with great content and creative minds will produce new ways for people to build communities and share experiences," says Ms. Schafman, President of KeystoneTech Group and of the IPv6 Forum-Israel. "I'm here to inspire the entertainment sector to start getting creative and to work with the technology sector to develop unique new consumer P2P environments with this New Internet."

“For those interested in what’s happening now and what’s coming next in P2P, social networking, and user-generated content – and what the impact of IPv6 will be – the P2P Media Summit LA is a must-attend event, and we expect Limor’s workshop to be an important addition to our agenda,” said DCIA CEO Marty Lafferty.

“P2P drives over 70% of all Internet traffic – and is still growing steadily. Social networks are just in their infancy but already deliver billions of files monthly and have created billions of dollars in market valuation. User-generated material and new forms of hybrid content have become this year’s most explosive growth area. And the coming IPv6 will bring about dramatic changes to all of these closely related phenomena,” added Lafferty.
