Luke has Loads of Control at Haulage Exchange

Haulage Exchange, an online trading platform for the haulage industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Loads Manager, Luke Davies. Luke has extensive experience within the haulage industry and is supported by knowledgeable staff.

London, UK (PRWEB) October 26, 2006 -- Luke Davies has been appointed Loads Manager at the Haulage Exchange following its successful launch earlier in 2006. Luke leads a team of knowledgeable support staff, which is a key differentiator from other online freight exchanges.

Haulage Exchange (http://www.haulageexchange.co.uk) operates the market place for hauliers and road transport companies but does not take any commission for their services - all freight, road haulage, or backload deals are carried out between the 'accredited' members of the Haulage Exchange. The support team is there to help owner drivers, owner operators and freelance drivers gain the maximum benefit from being a member of the fast growing Haulage Exchange and has so far proved a major strength.

Luke and his team are already helping new Haulage Exchange members including Van Hee Transport (Gateshead), Robsons of Spalding, F A Hawkins (Dunstable) C&D Transport (Rossendale), Mars-Jones (Denbigh) Bill Draper Transport (Hull) and Shears Bros Transport (Christchurch), increase their haulage vehicle utilisation, reduce empty running and ultimately improve profitability.

Having worked at the sharp end of the freight industry, Luke is able to identify and match haulage loads that fit the operational profile of specific freight operators helping them to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs. This has led to a 75% take up of the 1000 plus haulage loads on the Exchange every month.

Luke has 10 years' experience within the freight transport industry initially working in his parents' haulage business. After that he became Network Controller for the pallet operation of a large haulage company. His last job before joining the Haulage Exchange was as a Contracts Manager with DHL.

"This pro-active approach to managing the Haulage Exchange is driving activity to record levels on the site and demonstrates our clear commitment to the UK haulage industry," commented Lyall Cresswell, Managing Director of the Transport Exchange Group.
