Four Comics Join ArcaMax's Funnies Lineup

ArcaMax Publishing, a leading family-friendly news and entertainment provider, has added four new comic strips to its ever-growing funnies page.

Newport News, VA (PRWEB) October 26, 2006 -- ArcaMax Publishing, a leading family-friendly news and entertainment provider, has added four new comic strips to its ever-growing funnies page.

Now available as daily ezines, or e-mail newsletters, "Andy Capp," "Girls & Sports," "Momma," and "Winnie the Pooh" can be read in the ArcaMax Funnies ( http://www.arcamax.com/comics ) or free with an e-mail subscription. These four comics, distributed by Creators Syndicate, join the 19 already available from the ArcaMax Web site, including daily New Yorker cartoons and classics such as "Family Circus" and "Garfield."

"We're offering some familiar favorites, but a lot of what we run is very new and fresh as well," says Scott Wolf, ArcaMax CEO. "Things like 'Girls & Sports,' which started out in college newspapers and is new to syndication, are starting to gain a lot more interest. We're hoping to introduce our readers to some great new finds."

Along with "Girls & Sports," about two male college graduates trying to figure out the two things mentioned in the title, come three familiar comic strips existing fans will love and new ones will be glad they found. "Winnie the Pooh," loved as a series of children's books and animated features, is also available as a daily comic strip.

"Momma," about a senior citizen dealing with her grown-up children, joins other comics for parents like "Baby Blues" and Zits." "Andy Capp," carried on by other talented artists for the late Reginald Smythe, is still a popular read, both in the United States and the United Kingdom -- and now on ArcaMax.

When asked about future additions to the Funnies page, Wolf defined what he's looking for as "something people will look forward to reading in the morning. Readers want a laugh, but they also want something they can read to their family and share with their kids. We like to look for things we know our readers want specifically, but we're also enjoying sharing some new finds of our own with them."

ArcaMax's more than 20 free comic strips available by e-mail are some of the company's more than 50 free ezines, with more being added on a regular basis. Other newsletters include travel guides, regional gardening reports, and a free online book club. For more information or to subscribe, visit http://www.arcamax.com/cgi-bin/reg .
