Fresh Unlimited introduces an indulgent gift idea for the coming holiday season with the launch of a line of planet conscious aromatherapy beeswax candles with a portion of the proceeds going to the Save Darfur organization.

Fresh Unlimited announces the launch of Gold-Digger, a line of premium beeswax aromatherapy candles. The 6 oz candles are currently available in 2 aromatherapy scents that are derived from pure high grade essential oils (certified organic essential oils are used wherever possible) as well as an unscented version. The candles include, Tequila Nights (lime essential oil), Orange Crush, (tangy orange essential oil) and In the Buff (unscented/natural honey scent).

While the unscented version is made with 100% pure beeswax, the aromatherapy candles are made with a blend of a minimum 75% pure beeswax and 25% pure coconut oil as this allows for a better scent throw. The candles retail at $17 each or $45 for a set of 3 for the unscented natural and $21 each or $57 for a set of 3 for the aromatherapy. As well $3 from every candle sold will be donated to Save Darfur.org an organization committed to ending the genocide in Darfur. (http://www.savedarfur.org)

Fresh Unlimited is a gifts company that focuses on upscale organic gourmet foods and giftware items made in a way that is environmentally and/or socially responsible. It is a company committed to the belief that beauty, style, luxury and indulgence do not have to come at a cost to our planet or its inhabitants.

The company's goal in introducing its Gold Digger line is to encourage the use of beeswax candles by raising their profile and educating consumers about their environmental and potential health benefits. Rather than the traditional rustic look of beeswax candles, Gold-Digger candles have been given a modern yet understated look allowing them to blend in with any decor.

According to articles by both entomologist and writer Bill Reno (Bountiful Beeswax) and writer Bill Strubbe (Candle Cautions Healthy Alternatives to Paraffin), burning beeswax candles emits negative ions into the air which attract pollutants such as dust, odors, moulds, bacteria, viruses and other toxins and neutralizes them, thus in effect cleaning the air. Paraffin on the other hand is a by-product of the petroleum refining industry and contains toxic carcinogenic chemicals. When burned, these chemicals can not only affect human health but can also produce chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which are the gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect. .Bill Strubbe's article also refers to the organizations that have spoken out about the potential health risks posed by paraffin including the American Lung Association, the Environmental Illness Society of Canada as well as an Air Quality Engineer formerly with the Florida Department of Health who says that paraffin candle soot is similar to that released by diesel fuel.

Unlike many aromatherapy /scented candles, Gold Digger beeswax candles are made with pure essential oils, (the company uses certified organic essential oils wherever possible) and therefore contain no chemical synthetics. The use of aromatherapy dates back thousands of years and has been referred to in many ancient texts. Although much of the information on the health benefits of aromatherapy is anecdotal, more and more scientific research is being done including one study at the University of Manchester that found three essential oils were able to kill the MRSA hospital "superbug" and e coli bacteria in 2 minutes. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4116053.stm). Each essential oil has its own unique properties and can stimulate healing in the body and help release emotional tension and stress. Essential oil of lime is known for its uplifting and energizing properties while essential oil in the orange family is known for its refreshing and calming properties.

Fresh Unlimited is donating $3 from every Gold Digger candle sold to the Save Darfur organization "Currently, the humanitarian, security and political situation continues to deteriorate in the western Sudanese region of Darfur, atrocities continue, people are still dying in large numbers of malnutrition and disease, and a new famine is feared." The mission of the Save Darfur coalition is "to raise public awareness and to mobilize an effective unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of two million people in the Darfur region." (http://www.savedarfur.org).

Beeswax candles not only provide the esthetic appeal and warmth of candle light but are superior in a number of ways; they are clean burning, are a renewable resource, burn significantly longer than other waxes especially paraffin (and therefore are more economical in the long run), they emit no toxins into the air and may even play a role in cleaning the air by emitting negative ions, and they produce a bright flame identical in spectrum to sunlight. What else could one expect from a substance that originates from the nectar of millions and millions of flowers? Truly a resource more precious than gold.

Gold Digger candles will be available as of October 10th 2006 at http://www.freshunlimited.com
