Florida Author and RITA winner, Linnea Sinclair, Attending Multi-Author Charity Book Signing in Orlando Area
Romance, Science Fiction, and Mystery, Oh My! Eighteen popular and diverse authors are gathering in the Orlando, FL area on November 4, for a multi-author charity booksigning, called Romancing the Holidays.
Altamonte Springs, FL (PRWEB) October 28, 2006 -- Florida's newest RITA-award winning author, Linnea Sinclair, will be one of eighteen authors available to sign novels for their fans in a special Romancing The Holidays book signing on Saturday, November 4th, at the fountain in the center court of The Altamonte Mall. Fifteen per cent of all proceeds will be donated by Barnes& Noble--one of the holiday event's sponsors--to Central Florida's non-profit Adult Literacy League.
"I think this is a terrific opportunity for readers to meet their favorite authors, do some early holiday gift shopping and know they're helping a worthy cause," Sinclair says, adding she's thrilled to be in the company of some of USA Today and New York Times bestsellers like Leanne Burroughs, Nancy J. Cohen, Virginia Henley and Betina Krahn. "Florida has some incredible talent and this is really a showcase for that."
The event has been organized by the Central Florida Romance Writers, but authors and their books represent the mystery, paranormal and science fiction genres as well. Sinclair, whose 2005 release from Bantam, Gabriel's Ghost, won the RITA for Best Paranormal this past July, feels multi-author events like these are a good way for readers to expand their horizons. "Readers who usually like historicals might be tempted to try a romantic suspense, and paranormal fans might be intrigued by a science fiction release. Plus, personally autographed books make the perfect holiday gift or stocking stuffers."
Another incentive to attend: the first fifty people to buy books will receive a goody bag filled with bookmarks, cover flats, pens, key chains, and other promotional items donated by the authors. The complete list of authors attending can be found at: http://www.cfrwa.org/rth.htm.
And will RITA be there? "Absolutely," Sinclair says. "She's a one-foot tall golden statuette, very much like the Oscar. Any fans who want to have their picture taken with her, bring your camera!"
The Altamonte Mall is located at 451 E. Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL. 32701. The Romancing The Holidays event runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
