CoastRentals.com, a website devoted to marketing beach properties online, has gotten a fresh look and a number of new user-friendly features.
After just three and a half months online, CoastRentals.com continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Not only has the site experienced continually widening membership, but the features offered by CoastRentals.com are also expanding. These new features were designed to enhance the experience of both rental seekers and property owners.
Two helpful new elements to the site are the CoastRentals.com Weblogs. The two blogs offer insights on the vacation rental market and the technical aspect of CoastRentals.com. Through the "tech-blog," Internet savvy users can not only learn what makes CoastRentals.com run, but learn simple programming techniques as well. According to technical director Tim Showers, "The value of the blog is that not only does it give people an inside view of the workings of our site, but users can learn ways to improve their personal sites as well." The general CoastRentals blog highlights different beach vacation spots, property marketing ideas, and more.
Another feature new to the individual listings are the feedback forms. Visitors to the site can post their comments, questions, and reviews on the listings to share with other users and the property owners. In turn, property owners have the ability to manage the feedback through the backend system, PALMS Inc. Property owners can also add their own feedback comments in response to questions. "There is a lack of user-feedback in the vacation rental industry right now. We see this as an opportunity to build trust between our visitors and our listers. It is the first step in creating a Web 2.0-type community across our network," said owner Nathaniel Broughton.
In the ongoing goal to make CoastRentals.com equally accessible for owners and potential renters, a watch list has also been added to the site. With the watch list vacationers can keep a running list of their favorite CoastRentals.com properties. When viewing a listing, visitors to the site can select the 'Add to My Watch List' link and the property will be added to a special page where properties can be easily compared. From here individuals can also save time by inquiring to all Watch List properties at once. The Watch list can stay on a computer for up to 14 days, allowing potential renters to return to the site and re-evaluate their favorite properties. Along with these additions to CoastRentals.com, users can expect an entirely redesigned PALMS Inc. management system in the coming months.
