SECOA FC3 Winch Wins Best Debuting Product at LDI 2006

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 27, 2006 -- The SECOA FC3 fire curtain winch won Best Debuting Product in the Staging, Rigging, and Special Effects category at LDI, the international entertainment technology trade show. The FC3 winch was chosen from the trade show floor by the show judges because of "its size; its price; the ease of installation and operation."

This product is designed to provide a simple, cost effective, low maintenance solution to motorize fire curtains. The winch and controls are self-contained; you simply bolt the winch to the floor, connect power, and you are ready to rig your fire curtain.

We were very pleased with the award, SECOA's first at LDI, and we really believe that this is going to change the way that fire curtains are operated. I would be willing to bet that within the next five years the majority of fire curtain winches will be of this design.
The FC3 winch can be used in new construction with both straight-lift and brail fire curtains, and can be used with a counterweight arbor should the fire curtain weight exceed 750 pounds. Additionally, the FC3 can easily transform an existing manual system into a motorized system.

"After years of designing and installing complicated fire curtain winch systems, we knew there had to be a better way to do this," commented Dan Culhane, engineering manager at SECOA. "We just wanted to make something that was easy to install and operate, and didn't cost a fortune."

"We were very pleased with the award, SECOA's first at LDI, and we really believe that this is going to change the way that fire curtains are operated. I would be willing to bet that within the next five years the majority of fire curtain winches will be of this design."
