Montclair, VA (PRWEB) October 28, 2006 -- When Kevin G. McClure, host of The Tennis Podcast got his late Christmas gift in July of 2005, he couldn't have known that it was the beginning of a whole new enterprise involving website and iTunes show production.
"After I got my iPod, I uploaded all my music to the computer and then I started to look at what else the MP3 players could do. In this case, it led me to podcasting and I found that all of my favorite subjects had podcasts downloadable for free. Except tennis, my favorite subject," Kevin says.
Podcasting is a popularized term for a method of delivering sound, video and documents to individuals that subscribe to the service. The service is referred to as a "feed" or "RSS Feed," referring to Really Simple Syndication. This means that those that "subscribe" to a particular show will automatically be sent (pushed) the files the minute that they are updated on the website, blog or hosting service.
Podcasting has blossomed over the past couple years. Most people have a least heard the term and many are now searching out content. Basically, it's like finding out that there are thousands of specialty radio stations that you can get for free. They can include self-help, comedy, hi-tech, and most other categories you can think of... including tennis.
Kevin McClure continues, "Once I realized how much I listened to podcasts, and that there wasn't a series on tennis, I knew that I had to throw my hat into the podcasting world. Since I had been producing articles and newsletters for years, I had plenty to get started with. So, I started with tennis instruction."
Kevin is currently the Director of Tennis at Sport Fit in Bowie, Maryland. With nearly 20 years as a Head Pro or Director of Tennis, he had the experience necessary to lay out the tennis instruction in a simple audio format. He'd also had experience speaking with two seminar contest victories for the Mid-Atlantic USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) and having taken a Train the Trainer class with T. Harv Ecker, a renowned speaker and self-improvement specialist.
Initially, the show included the core feature, The Tennis Podcast (www.TheTennisPodcast.com). Soon after, Kevin began to add features. Most notably were the interviews. He has interviewed:
