Palm Springs, CA (PRWEB) November 7, 2006 -- DigitalPulp Publishing (www.digitalpulppublishing.com), an independent ePublishing and distribution company, introduces new voices to eBook readers.
C.A. Scott is a writer on the sci-fi horizon to be reckoned with. Her ambitious Racing History series already made its way into publication with Volume 1: Meteoric in June of this year. Now Volume 2: Quixotic is in publication and both volumes are available at the DPPstore (www.dppstore.com).
Racing History is an ambitious, sci-fi series that proudly flaunts its appreciation for pop culture: music, film, comics, television, videogames, and yes literature of all kinds. In her episodic series, C.A. Scott dares to challenge many of today's boundaries in science fiction. The Racing History series is opera with a cyberpunk attitude and a touch of film noir.
Quixotic: Racing History, Volume 2 continues where the first volume left off with Diego Lee, who grew up on Virtuality and role-playing games. Becoming someone else is second nature to him. So when it's necessary to do so, the man he invents is "Race Allen," a quixotic adventurer with little regard for the law. He is a romantic science fiction cliché, the very bread and butter of space opera. His way of life is also completely unrealistic and, in the Stellar Union, utterly impossible to sustain. That's not to say Diego can't make a go of it: evading shuttlecops and bounty hunters alike, dodging between criminal organizations, and shooting without asking any questions at all.
Quixotic can be purchased and downloaded at the DPPstore (www.dppstore.com) as one complete volume or by episode: Episode 8: Spirit of the Age; Episode 9: Pirates and Criminals; Episode 10: (Days and) Nights Errant; Episode 11: We're with the Band; Episode 12: On Clod Nine; Episode 13: Don't Look Back; Episode 14: The End of the Beginning.
"Scott is an excellent storyteller," says DPP critic Jacki Buck. "The settings are fascinating -- rich and intricate, and the characters are well thought out and completely believable even within their fictitious scope."
A scientific journalist and editor, C.A. Scott is author of many articles and magazine supplements covering biotechnology. As a technical editor, she has been a guest at several west-coast science fiction conventions. Science fiction is her passion.
