ChiKii Woman to Woman™ Reveals 27% of Women Between the Ages of 31 and 60 Smoking Marijuana for Recreation
A survey done by ChiKii Woman to Woman™ reveals that middle class moms and professionals are smoking pot. Six women go on the show and share their perspective.
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) November 3, 2006 -- Are upstanding women in your community smoking pot? Is it a stepping stone drug? The survey and interview conducted by ChiKii Woman to Woman™ suggests that conventional thinking about who uses drugs may not be correct.
Producers of ChiKii Woman to Woman surveyed 200 women in fifteen states as they prepared the show, Women and Weed, airing this week at www.chikii.com. Some 27% of survey respondents reported that they smoke pot for recreational purposes. Some reported smoking on a daily basis but most stated they smoked a few times per month or year.
"I always imagined that if an adult woman used drugs she was an abuser living an impoverished life. What we found is that upstanding women in our community including moms and professionals smoke pot. None of them reported using harder drugs though more than 90% drink alcohol. All of the women we interviewed for the show were middle to upper middle class women. The group consisted of business owners, professionals, stay at home moms, a teacher and a grandmother. It is a very different and interesting perspective," says Executive Producer and Host, Shay Pausa.
The show and survey indicates that marijuana use could be occurring in ways not necessarily shown in the traditional media. Awareness and additional research is needed to determine how marijuana use by women may be impacting local communities.
"I hope this piece serves to start meaningful conversations and debate regarding marijuana usage and legalization," says Shay Pausa.
