The Art & Spirit of Rabbit Hosted by Welstar
Welstar's winter art show will feature the Spirit Paintings created by local Cap Cod artist Rabbit.
Orleans, MA (PRWEB) November 4, 2006 -- Welstar is proud to host The Art & Spirit of Rabbit. The art show will feature the Spirit Paintings created by Rabbit and will open with a reception on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 5:30 pm and run until Monday, January 8, 2007. Welstar patrons will be able to view Rabbit's spirit paintings throughout the spa's common areas and treatment rooms after the shows opening night.
Rabbit's earliest Spirit Paintings, as they have come to be known originated from her own connections with nature, meditation and yoga. When asked to create them for others, she developed a meditation technique to attune herself to the spiritual energy of a person -- either through a photograph, telephone conversation, or visit. As she continues to contemplate and reflect on that energy she begins painting.
Always evocative of the individual for whom they are created, the Spirit Paintings, vary in design, color and intensity. With exquisite detail, the paintings mirror unique facets of a person being.
Rabbit, has been living, working, painting and sculpting on Cape Cod for more than 25 years. Her paintings and clay work are widely known and appreciated for their artistry.
Born in Southern California in 1950, she moved to Eastport, Maine in 1969 where she was awarded two art grants; one to mentor and teach children art in the regions middle school and second to design and paint a mural for the town of Calais. She also attended the University of Maine where she studied watercolor, acrylics and oil painting.
In 1980 she moved to Cape Cod and studied pottery and sculpture with Steve Kemp. Her work continues to evolve as she explores varied methods an new avenues of spirituality.
